Hemet, CA historyAn often-overlooked gem in Hemet, California, the Hemet Museum offers an educational and enriching experience for all.

At the Hemet Santa Fe Depot, restored more than twenty years ago, you will discover a variety of exhibits on Hemet’s history. The museum’s permanent collections includes the Western Science Center Archaeological Display, the Native American Exhibit, the Early American Exhibit, the Postal Exhibit, an exhibit on the National Guard and military, a display of railroad paraphernalia, and a video station. There is also a rotating exhibit, which means that you can go back again and again to discover something new.

I encourage you to take your family to the Hemet Santa Fe Depot (or return a second or third time). The museum is informative and entertaining for kids of all ages. Best of all, the museum is free (though donations are always appreciated).

Much of the past may be gone, but the Hemet Museum is dedicated to making sure that our area’s rich history stays alive for residents, now and in the future.

The Hemet Museum is located at 100 W. Florida Ave. and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
